This ornate sculpture is hand carved out of one piece of rose wood and painted with different colors of liquid gold to highlight the beauty of this piece.   It is portraying the Royal Couple in a carriage on the elephant’s back accompanied by two royal guards, one holding an umbrella and the other guard holding a weapon in his hand.  The royal crest (a bird) is carved on both sides of the elephant.
    
The intricate work of this sculpture can be done by only skilled artists.  The meticulous
details will be much appreciated when it is in front of you as pictures can not do justice to
the carving on this piece.   It compliments any style of décor, from traditional to
contemporary.
