Embroidery is a form of art by designing fabric with threads and other materials using one or more needles. The Vietnamese people have a long tradition of fine arts passed on from generation to generation among the diverse ethic groups through out the country. Each group has its own culture and art and one such art is hand embroidery which is a traditional art that is still very popular today.
This elegant picture is a perfect example of such traditional art which was embroidered by hand depicting a typical Vietnamese Pagoda style architecture in the shape of a boat. This is a very pristine area surrounding by a cobblestone side walk with a backdrop of lush greenery and a manicured lawn with beautiful lotus plants, flowers and two women dressed in the traditional Vietnamese style “Ao Dai” clothing admiring the scene.
Size of the frame is 17¾” x 23½”.
The embroidery is framed, covered with glass and lined with a linen liner and gold strip. It is fully completed and ready to be displayed. This embroidery picture is unbelievably neat, it looks like a painting but it is not. Just imagine the creative skills of the Vietnamese.
